I’ve been told I’m casualty in every way a person can be
Yeah maybe…but personally I don’t like to get personal
or too comfortable
I don’t need attention or validation
I prefer a summer sun as it rises over a lake
making it shimmer with a million points of light
or the naked cosmos of full display in the dessert at night
An empty field of grasses waving gently in the breeze
A sun shower to put the mind at ease
The nowhere-ness of sitting inside an ocean fog
The primordial stillness of a bayou bog
A waterfall surrounded by massive glacial erratics
or just driving through US Route 491, formerly known as Route 666
just for the Hell of it
because in a world full of noisy lunatics
I take comfort that there are still places out there far removed from all the bullshit
