When all else fails I go back to art …

It's always interesting to know what people see in my paintings.
For me it's mostly a feeling that I use color to execute.  I'm prone to darker colors but yellow and black are a fierce combination of emotion.

I try to go with the flow but I can get moody pretty quickly.
But as I age I give a fuck less about things I really cared about.
So, I'll write something or paint something and try not to break anything or anybody too much ...

I don't do well with too many light colors so I'm prone to stick large shapes of dark colors to do contrast and juxtaposition.  It's a yin yang thing in my personality I suppose.  You're more of an impressionistic painter.  I have huge respect for your work.  I'm more of a paint by mood type.  When people see stuff in them I always look but I approach art with more of a need to do it rather than pre-conceived subject matter.

Unlike writing the paintings don't write themselves.  Sometimes I'll be shaving or washing the dishes and a block of colors will float into my head and I'll say to myself I've got to do something with that ... in that sense it is like writing.  I was lucky to find art as a way of expressing myself.  Otherwise I might have ended up in the slammer doing
2 to10 for bank robbery !!

But if I had to say what it reminded me of, I say Shoe Boxes and cowboy boots.  Some contusions too ...

It's a contemplative act to paint these days.  So many distractions.
But when I get it going it usually turns out alright.
If I ever retire I'll try to put together some books maybe and show it correctly.

I was drinking rye last night and when I ran out of that switched to bourbon for the overtime disaster.  It's hard to watch the
Knicks (Nix) without booze.  Heartbreakers for sure....
