The Ten Commandments of DUP
thou shalt not be a twat
for a twat is a person of great stupidity
thou shalt not be a troll
for a troll only lives to manipulate
thou shalt not be a prick
for a prick is full of nothing more than spite
thou shalt not be a bully
for a bully is someone who hides insecurities
thou shalt not be an ass
for an ass only talks shit with no explanation
thou shalt not be narcissistic
for you will forever be left playing with yourself
thou shalt not be a shit-starter
for that is a reflection of a pathetic person
thou shalt be respectful
for that is what grown-ups do
thou shalt like and comment
give time to get time
thou shalt use that block button well
you don't have to put up with anyone's sins

Thanks you, friend 😁 I mostly wrote this because I get rather tired of the bullying around here. I think we should hold each other up and not bring each other down. So many great poets end up leaving because of this.

hi dearest DC I agree but I spend a lot of time commenting and either my poems are bad or people just don't like me because I get very little back these days... it seems like people don't care... just my feelings I keep writing regardless but sometimes it makes me feel bad...

I understand that. We are all human after all. I get the same. But your poetry is fantastic. I been reading for years. I fall victim to my own emotions as well. I think it's hard not to get frustrated but we all must show respect regardless.
I've said it many times (mostly to myself) poetry is a game of self love. Would be nice to get more feedback though I'm sure for us all.
I think you might be mostly right (sadly) about people not caring. We lifers love poetry but some people just don't love it like we love it.
Very happy to see your comment, friend. It is very much appreciated 😁

Dear Poetess,
I actually read your poems every day but often do not comment since, quite frankly, I don't always understand them, which I take to indicate an embarrassing lack in my own poetic education and not a statement regarding your authorship at all.
Possibly the main reason I fail to comment is out of fear of accidentally giving offense to folks whose works here I actually like but don't comprehend enough to feel fully confident about engaging in an intelligent discourse thereof, and one of my goals at DUP is to learn about other poetic styles and motivations, etc.
Also, I think you churn out five or six poems a day so it can be a challenge to keep up (I am not the fastest reader by a long shot).
I admire and am amazed by your prolific output!

It's the same with me. I'm not saying people should comment on everything. Just show love here and there when something catches your eye. I mean we all can't spend all day reading and understanding everything. Poetry often is wrote out of something personal. So I get that not every poem will resonate.
Rest assure I see you as a great supporter. I'm more directing that towards people that beg for feedback but give none back. But yeah, totally agree that it is quite impossible to read everything. I surely don't expect that at all.
Many thanks for the read. I very much appreciate it. 😁

It really pisses me off when people just leave a avatar ( billboard ) instead of a comment. It doesn't take much TO DO BOTH.
We are writers afterall ....
Some really good writers fall away from here for lack of support.
An RL is nice but a comment is better.
Both together is da bomb

I'm fine with even a like. I understand some people don't always know what to say, but that also only goes for once and awhile. I just get irked at those who won't even do that much. A like, comment, RL here and there. At some point it just feels like they are shunning. I read a lot of great poems but it makes me not want to comment on certain peoples poetry.
I do hope the support here gets better. I want to see some of my old poet friends come back.
Many thanks, friend 😁
