The Band I Remember
today I dusted off some old records
they were from my favorite band
wanted to listen from start to finish
six to be exact
the first record was full of angst and anger
very nostalgic for me
the right album for a troubled teen
the second showed more structure
very powerful
it almost didn't seem like the same band
the third was the Vincent van Gogh
containing the Mona Lisa
and 7th symphony
perfection with each track
my go to record
the fourth felt like a new stage
as if they'd finally reached adulthood
guess I did as well
the political tone really resonates
the fifth felt like the end
songs that talked about rock being dead
and changes in the music industry
still a great album
even if it's hard to listen to
the sixth came years later
like a phoenix rising
giving one last diamond
not as good as their first or third
but enough for me to say
yeah, this is the band I remember

As much as i love 80s music i usually listen to 90s earily 2000s. Mostly because I feel at the same time they were growing up so was I.

Would have to agree. The earlier stuff usually is the best. I think hunger passion and so on. I think also as we get older we tend to let things go easier, or things don't seem as much a big deal.
