Simple analysis and I hope it is correct
Black: represents the night and intimate moments
Red: represents romance and love
Blue: represents the spirit and feelings
Yellow: represents purity of heart and love
The features of the painting show a mixture of feelings and passion in love
With a little sadness
 maybe Im wrong

It's a good analysis MP
With abstraction I often do them in a combustible motion.
Not thinking as much about the color as much as the movement.
Often people tell me what they see and when I look back they are often in concert with each other.

I juxtaposed the black against the yellow.  Originally it was all yellow with just a little darkness.  But while pretty it was boring .  So I made the dark and light play together in the sandbox....
It's how it goes in art.  I'm sure when you do a song there's a similar  construction of elements.....

Cool to hear about your process. Yes, I love adding layers in music, too... but I often get impatient to unleash a song, and don't take the time to do all the things I'm hearing in my head.
Of course I approve of the addition of red to the mix. 😁

Sometimes we just want it out there fast and don't take all the steps.
Takes discipline which comes and  goes for me ..
