Skin

 
Once I have a stranger, nobody is finding them. That is how I am able to conduct my experiments- strangers who trust people they have never met.  Of course, they need to be able to eat and excrete, but not much else.

I have always been interested in the skin.  How it feels.  How it is able to feel.  How it is flexible and can regrow, or be grafted onto other people.  I remember nibbling, and tearing back my cuticles, curious about how it would be able to grow back again, even this time, even after I have ripped off and eaten what feels like half my finger.      

Then I noticed how skin would stick to leather.  Then I learned that leather is skin, and I became curious.  I started my experiments with leather, but leather is not alive.  I have since learned a lot about what skin can do from animals: how malleable it is, how thin it is, but animals cannot tell you how they feel.  A full experiment can only be conducted with humans, and they are in abundant supply.  Now I can engage my entire range of curiosity about skin and organs.  Two I am grafting back-to-back, so I can get to their kidneys.  Two are front-to-front and doing very well.  The next two I will graft higher so I can reach their stomachs.  My favorites are embracing each other, arms and legs around each other with just enough independent space to eat and excrete.  They have been together for so long that their skin is merging, and the difference between his skin and her skin is disappearing.  Right now they are groggy and upset with me, but soon enough they will be able to reflect objectively and tell me how it feels.
