I don't know how to talk to them anymore. What's okay and what's not. I can't be myself. I'm too afraid. Where do I go from here.

And therein lies the crux of many good friendships that span a certain time frame. People change and life sometimes intervenes, inadvertently causing friends to grow apart. It's a sad and unfortunate fact of life. However, there's always an opportunity to find your way back to one another, eventually. I like to believe that true heartfelt friends are there no matter how much time or hurt has passed between them.
Keep the faith, try addressing your fears and live how you choose without editing yourself. Be kind, compassionate and leave your heart open enough to have that candle forever burning in the window....
