Though You Broke Me

You came into my life and promised me the finer things, filled my head up with those bogus false hopes and lame old dreams. I got excited when you got down on one knee, and on my finger you placed the precious diamond ring. Grandma always said everything that glitter ain't gold. And she never lied cause your lame stories got old.

A mother, wife and bestfriend is the responsibility I had, but my kindness for weakness you took for granted and ran. Late nights to early mornings my days never seemed to end, I  worked sun up to sun down making sure my family's needs are amend. The skeletons in your closet started to surface and breakout, then the  web of deceit and all else played their part. Tell the truth shame the devil, your lies became your allibies so I killed your spirit and handed you the shovel.

Time after time you where sitting around looking down on me with a funky little frown Like I was a speedbump slowing you down. I Wanted out cause I was tired of the lies, You forever used your job for bogus allibies. Your Cold calculated demons all in my face, shedding your negativity all around in my space

So After years of trying to hang on to my vowels, I grew tired of living my life with someone so bogus and foul. Behind closed doors my tears I did shed, cause blinded by your false love I followed as you so called led. But my eyes became open and my mind free, so now tears you'll shed when you see me.. Future reference while you sipping on your cheap moet, remember never piss off a poet...
