It Never Gets Old

Silently she drops to her knees  
(thankful for padded carpet).  
She still carries the graceful dancer  
from earlier years though it’s more difficult now.
 
Yes, she’s been here before.  
Exactly in this place.  
Too many times to count.  
She leans into his warmth and thinks,  
it never gets old.

I wrote this for a friend's wedding anniversary. She danced professionally when she was younger and made one of her dance partners a partner for life (so far).
