Lol, the avatar thing is funny but not in a funny way, lol. Bowie's last studio album was called, 'Blackstar' as you may know. He already knew he was dying when he recorded it. He also killed off 'Major Tom' which was quite touching. You describe dark stars almost as if they are black holes. All way over my head, of course but your knowledge, although poetical, sounds very convincing!

I haven't heard it yet.

It's always interesting to get peoples perspective
on my stuff. I wanted it to come across like they are hidden
in the background cause they are dark. Almost side by side
enhancing each other in a way.

Lol, well these dark stars are hidden to the majority of us right, unless you own an observatory or happen to be Sir Patrick Moore, right? (And he's been dead for at least 5 years, lol. God bless his soul, huh?) I'll shut up now! I get too enthusiastic after a few drinks, that's the trouble!

Without some shades of dark, nothing can be brighter than anything else.  Without light, everything is dark.  They have to coexist, just to exist.  Because it's in the shades of light and dark, that things thrive.  Anything extreme is actually alone.

"Five shoulders" - what an original view!   99.9% of people would call them "legs".  But saying shoulders gives them a sense of weight, maybe even burden.  Of more purpose, then.  
You do know that you have a future, if wanted, in analyzing music in an online music site or elsewhere.  Could be lucrative!  

Say hi to the coyotes for me.  They're singing to you, missing you!  

To me stars look like they have shoulders. LOL
Also was thinking about back in the day at concerts when
guys would lift the girls on their shoulders to get a better view. hahaha

I've never thought about analyzing music on an online site. Is there even such a thing? hummm
Right now I just go with what I feel. Not sure I'd qualify to be honest. But your faith in me means the worlds amigo:)

As for the coyotes in my area - all of my little baby bunnies
have disappeared. They were so cute Mark:(
All gone.  I'm hoping they are alive but I doubt it.

You know you test my friendship by thinking rabbits are anything more than food for more awesome creatures.  They're like feeder fish, except they can't even swim very well.  

Bugs Bunny is cool.  But Thumper?  Food.  LOL.

It's a brutal world young lady.  Best be prepared.  I guess we won't be sharing that stew anytime soon, huh.  Durn it.

Can we let them at least hit puberty first - enjoy wildlife sex at least
once before they get turned into stew!!  Jeeze. LOL

Hell yeah, by all means let them breed!   More food for carnivores!  

Yeah, they're cute as hell as wittle baby bunny rabbits.   But, even that fur is good lining for gloves and boots.   Mother nature provides well.  Lol

So many old soul songs are within these lines, even a few country hits. The thanking of spouses for accepting a role in their spouses limelight. To be of shadows doesn't mean that you don't exist, it's just that you can exist elsewhere besides the light. Tight

Just felt my mind go and started hearing phrases in my mind
and came up with this.

But you always shine bright, in the dark or the light.
What is perfection, it’s an impossible target because it doesn’t exist.
Or perhaps we are all perfect in our own ways…
And maybe there is always people that will see us that way despite our flaws.
Stitching into each other that’s where you find perfection.
Your expression of yourself is so perfect, and I think you are too. ;)
The shine often just makes you shut your eyes, it is blinding.
You can’t see past it to what lies inside.
The true buried treasures of the heart and soul.
That’s what I want to crack open and find…

Malice and jealousy only destroy the heart and soul.
So lift bright stars high above that and enhance the light,

It's an important thing to me as I feel the perspective of the writing, what the intention of the writing is. I feel like your poem here address that vital quality of expression through its metaphors.

Sometimes I grab a metaphor and run with it. This one just came. I wrote the last stanza first and went backwards with it. I feel not everyone is comfortable in the limelight. Especially writers - which is why we write. Where quiet time is a must to focus all of the crowds in our head. Comfortable in our seclusion in a way.

I once read at a poetry slam and never did again. The intimate setting of this forum is so much more attuned to my heart. Your poem rang its truth with a lyrical beauty that we dark stars know so well. You put it into words that capture the darkness and focus it on the dark matter whose power is irresistible.

In my humble opinion, this is an impressive and very pleasant tribute to those of us who don't enjoy showing off and being "the life of the party". Something tells me this is also personal for you, though I could be way off about that. Either way, I really liked this! It's also very interesting that you used the image of stars who aren't comfortable shining. Stars are naturally bright, in this case, though, they retain their inner light without using it to draw attention to themselves. Great!
