A library of tears
collected like raindrops
on shelves made of dust
filled with mothballed love letters
Souls gathered like crows
for Archivists to excavate
From the ruins of time
Where ravens perch
on books dripping ink
Whose liquid wisdom
showers the gentle night.

I loved this, John!
Reminded of a scene from a remake of the Time Machine based on the book by H G Wells.. The main character is unaware that he accidentally travels thousands of years into the future where miraculously, humans still exist; but only after surviving primally for hundreds/thousands of years after the modern era (their past) sent the world into an apocalypse. There are remains/ruins of this (but futuristic /modern to the us ) public library that still exists with a holographic librarian and it's the 'librarian' who reveals to the main character that yes, it's indeed the future that he's in ...and the future's stone age consequences are one of mankind's own horrible making!!
I feel your poem is similar to that feeling I had when being surround by those futuristic ruins from the past... ( oh the paradox of time travel!)
This is some of the best descriptive imagery I've read. It allows the reader to lose themselves in an instant! ... I truly love your imagination, it's so vast, vivid and erudite. Even this small sampling is enough to send minds spiraling into an alternative paradoxical dimension/future... Lol... 😂
I am all about such smart, unique creativity!

Oh my sweet love, taking you on such a journey is my heart's dream. Your description of that movie inspires me to look for it and watch it. Love that my poem had that HG Wells Time Machine feel.
