the flower

have i not
looked so correctly,
giving you more
than a second
glance,

speaking your praise
as i near you,
each time
passing your way,

you, once
stood there proudly,
your blooms
blushing
with compliments,

you, out surpassing
any imagination,
but now
summer has passed,

your time has passed,
you stand naked,
losing your crown,
losing your robe,

and now, none
see the beauty
of your once blooms,
but i,
i am not blind,

even though age
has removed thoughts
from most eyes,
i still see
the beauty
that remains
in my memory
of what
you were once.
