I have No Body
I have no body
oh no
no hands, no fingers, or toes
I'm broken up
and will be for forever
quite transparent
everyone sees through me
might as well be part of the air
because I have no body
no body to meet friends with
so boring this lack of existence
I feel sick
my head hurts
I don't even have one on my shoulders
because as you know
I have no body
or no body to love
who could love someone with no heart?
I am of no comfort
I'm here, there, yet nowhere
am I even a soul?
I know I can feel
but lack a thinking brain
is this what it's like to be insane?
my eyes aren't there to see whats here
what I wouldn't give to have you near
even a fight would suffice
but as it is I have no ears to even hear
I'm just the ghost in your room
floating around with no end
hoping to find others who are dead

I love how disassociated I feel after reading this. You really captured a nebulous sense of self, it even reminds me a bit of body dysmorphia.

I like that thought very thought provoking I wonder sometimes what it would feel like to be a ghost to be able to be seen and not seen through open eyes 👁🤔🙈🙉🙊👀

I'm visualizing the intermittent clapping I'd be doing @ this outstanding poem along with additional vivid written feedback, shame, since I too, have no hands... I'd also have a loud healthy whistle to add punctuation to your job well done; but alas, I'm without my teeth and lips...My emotional state of empathy, connection and resonance emanates across the miles...As I often feel similarly; a shell who's virtually unseen...
