absent yet not gone
Do you imagine I stopped
Missing you
Wanting you
Seeking you
Because my days ran out of quiet moments?
I miss you more
The less I have those secret seconds
To let my heart roam free
I missed hearing your heartbeat
In the rhythm of a favorite song
(I had no time for falling into music)
I missed feeling how the wind
Could be your soft slow kiss
Gently brushing eager cheeks and lips
I missed longing for you
And feeling, as though reflected back,
That assurance that you miss me too.
Do not think my desire for you
Wanes or fades…
When I seem absent
On those days
I miss you more
Missing you
Wanting you
Seeking you
Because my days ran out of quiet moments?
I miss you more
The less I have those secret seconds
To let my heart roam free
I missed hearing your heartbeat
In the rhythm of a favorite song
(I had no time for falling into music)
I missed feeling how the wind
Could be your soft slow kiss
Gently brushing eager cheeks and lips
I missed longing for you
And feeling, as though reflected back,
That assurance that you miss me too.
Do not think my desire for you
Wanes or fades…
When I seem absent
On those days
I miss you more
