It reads a bit like a Doctor Seuss set of "if"; setting up all the conditions for asking if the person still loves the subject. The ending confuses me a bit. The conditions for love written earlier don't all represent things associated with the devil. Some do but not all. I am not even going to try to figure out why the devil is in a hurry to add someone to her/his domain, rather then waiting as usual for a person's death.
