Programmed generation

Dark lonesome roads
Lead to the dustbin of suburbia
Where a perpetual sunset
Hangs over slowly decaying youth

The excitement long gone
From the faces of jaded teenagers
They traded their spit and vinegar
For fake lives in a digital dream

Where does this leave us?
To twilight years in a corroded world
Memories of the trailblazers
Lost amongst the clickbait

Hold a fading candle
For their failed realization
They know not what their missing
In this programmed generation
