I Knew You Were Right (but did you have to be so correct)

You were one who rebelled against the system
You challenged binaries and made a new fem
You could have been a brand new messiah
But now you are professional pariah

You make me hate myself more
What can I now adore
My instincts are shot to hell
Bullshit hearts, it all ends well

How can I believe the art you made
When your victims had lives ended in spades
You lied in public and in private
All the while, you showed yourself a bigot

You make me hate myself more
What can I now adore
My instincts are shot to hell
Bullshit hearts, it all ends well

Forget you, you lied to us
Leave you, damaged to dust
The garden, you forced and fed lies
Art pardon, took us all by un-surprise

Lies/Minds – Cover for your present sleep
Eyes/Ties – Take advantage of your mortal keep
Bleed/Greed – Convert those youth to be your whores
Heed/Plead – Protect your image, abandon the shores

We looked to you as a possible light
You fought the world with a brand new sight
But became enamored with your legend
As your writings became all too burgeoned

You make me hate myself more
What can I now adore
My instincts are shot to hell
Bullshit hearts, it all ends well
