that we have come to this
there are lies when
we are born
there are lies on the
faces of fly's buzzing
around the brush
tail of a sleepy horse
in the dirt dry heat
of summer
there are lies on the
faces, eyes and mouths
of our mothers
there are lies on the
faces, eyes and hands
of our fathers
there are lies from the
pulpit wrapped around
self rightousness
there are lies in the way
we live life
and we wait for
it
look for
it
hope for
it
that one small
truth
no bigger than a
half grain of sugar
moving through
the intestines of
an ant
but ringing louder
than cathedral
bells
shinning brighter
than the coins on
a dead man's eyes
as we look up and
see blue everywhere
and realize
the sky is
sad
