Forevermore

With trepidation I tiptoe inward.
An unflinching gaze into the madness
of an abused mind.
Wet with streams of pain and pleasure,
from whence no punishments
are left behind.

Eyes open to a little boy.
Impressionable, with so much life to live.
Then enter the thieves of joy,
some sins a man must not forgive.

I was a dead inside pre teen.
Nightmares replaced my childhood dreams.
Faces burnt into every scene,
how could no one hear my screams?

Adolescence, awkward and alone.
Bullied by the boys as the girls laughed.
I felt a presence down into my bones,
the darkness speaks on my behalf.

From the gladiator arenas of prison,
to the battlefields of war,
it was the innocence you robbed from me
that hurts forevermore.
