Hope

The heart beats in silent yearning
a vessel shattered  
torn in two  
re-welded  
hammered into shape
forged in the fires of creation

to hold once more the gifts of humanity
knowing the pain of rebirth  
the vulnerability of love
to weep in sadness
and finally finding hope

learning strength through failure
to stand before the storm  
the whispered fear  
of failed love  
and the emptiness left behind
 
hope is welder of our hearts  
the hammer that binds
making us whole
hope for today
hope for the tomorrow
and hope for a world filled with love
