Is it strange I love the burning sensation I get when I do cut myself while shaving? Enjoyed the read! 💜💜

It's an "Oh Shit" moment with the cut, delay and then blood pour.  Mopping it up and putting something on the wound to stop the bleeding.  The whole rest of the day, the burn, like you say ...

Don't tell anyone but I added the red today to razor.  The razor is actually barbed wire but artists take their own liberties often !!

I did Google him and must admit his form of conceptualism was in the trailblazer category.  He also died of Melanoma something I had 10 years ago but fortunately found early in Stage 1.

Danger. Tempting fate. Daring the gods. I like the element of chance in this yet, I relate to the idea of self harm because underneath there is a bit of unrest. Inner turmoil. The painting speaks very cool volumes. The last minute dash of red- very cool, or should I say hot…

I really didn't expect much attention on this write.
I posted a similar write several years ago entitled
the RAZOR CHRONICLES with a slightly different approach.
I'm one of those weird artists types who only shaves my upper lip and  my neck but a shadow beard remains on chin and sides.
Always having to be different.... See Avatar lol
I've also practiced self harm in a sexual way.  There's a lot to be had by doing it yourself.  I should be a Professor of Pain, I'd probably save a lot of souls...

I see New York sky scrappers bending and swaying.  The abstract takes form then goes back to abstract. There is movement. It's only after a long glance that I see the razor and the blood.

Shaving is one of the strangest thing we do in the modern world.
When we were cave men we just had beards. The cuts we make in our faces to bring our faces into normality.

Intense words and art.

As you know James, shaving is private time and prone to all kinds of interesting thoughts.  I do my best thinking when taking a shower.  
I also cry there if in grief.  
This poem was just an observation but it yielded a poem and art so it worked out just fine ...

I must admit razor and self harm had a different meaning to me, perhaps you remember 'Razor kisses' I wrote some time ago...
Vampires are never on the stand by. Predators and sadists... always needing the next fix.
Why do the best blades get dull so quick. I bet you are glad you don't have to shave your legs. lol Well, then again maybe you do if that's your thing too. :p
Is self harm a masochistic act if you find it soothing? Asking for a friend * cough * Love the painting, it's like a razor wonderland but not much blood, just saying...

Yeah the red was added digitally as the painting is Gouache.
Took some liberties there for the poem to work but I kinda like it.
I disposed of that blade this morning btw, I figured the next shave could have been a blood bath but I worked that mother out so good riddance ...
