What A Day...

This is the chagrined face you make when driving to work at 5:00 am in the morning, hair still damp, and even peeved when you are scheduled off, and two of your Certified Nurse Assistants, and your two Clinical Floor Supervisors have called off, and you cannot get anyone to cover their twelve-hour shifts that early.

In addition, that means being the Nursing Director and limited clinical resources today, I had to resort back to my nursing skills; assessing our residential patients, assisting the male orderlies with hoisting male residents for baths, pushing a medication cart for dispensing of medication three times a day, logging in narcotics after dispensing, Insulin injections, draining colostomy bags, scheduling transportation for residents who need appointments for Chemotherapy/Radiation therapy, or Dialysis.

Not to mention overseeing my own administration duties.

Instead of sitting behind a desk for four hours...  I had to call off my second place of employment... oh… I was supposed to be at home, in my robe, watching Your Majesty’s final farewell.

Life is not fair, when you have plans...
