History Lesson Part 1

Remember that time when we were small? That time when the world was too big for us?  That time when everything was taller than us?  When everything was larger than us?  That time when everyone and everything dwarfed us in every aspect?  Back when we were the children of the mind.  We might have been seven or twenty-seven, but we all acted like we were not the greatest gift of the universe.  We were all new babies that were just brought into the world.  We didn't understand society in the way that countless others find their conviction.  Back when we are children we are taught to have small egos.  We have small bodies, small eyes, short lines of sight.  In the eyes of adults, children are short minded people.  But when do we become the people that are "adults"?  The people who are bigger than everything.  The people who can look down on others and say "I am better than you".  When does that happen?  When are we allowed to look down on others?  The answer for some is yesterday and for others tomorrow, but for me it has always seemed like never.  I have never really been given an opportunity to say that I am better than others and when I have been given those opportunities I have reveled in them and used them to my advantage.  However, those are the moments that I look back on the most and regret more than anything else.  The way I look at life is that you should never say "I am better than you" but rather "never will I be better than someone else, other than me".
This is what the nature teaches us: that we should never forget the fact that we are smaller than everything else in our universe.  We are tiny.  We are a fraction of a fraction of a grain of sand on a beach.  Many people don't think about the vastness of the universe and how small we really are in comparison.  Many people cannot even comprehend the whole idea of a truly infinite universe.  Something that goes on forever really isn't fathomable by the human mind.  Everything we create has a definite start and end.  However, many things we are given by nature are infinite and we don't quite understand them or like the idea that we can't control them; history, the food chain, the circle of life, life itself.  But we spend our lives and thoughts trying to make it seem like we are larger than life itself.  We think that just because WE are the only "intelligent" beings that we have observed makes us the most important things in the universe.  We spend our lives dumbing everything down and making everything seem smaller than it really is so that we can comprehend it better.
One of the fundamental laws of the universe and nature is my favorite and many people don't know about it or even what it entails in in for the big picture.  The universe never creates just one of something, nothing is a singular creation or occurrence.  This is because of the vastness of the infinite universe itself.  We know this to be true in our everyday observations.
The universe didn't create only one cell to create everything on its own.
The universe didn't create only one plant to utilize the ground.
The universe didn't create only one insect to run the world.
The universe didn't create only one animal to rule the planet.
The universe didn't create only one person to be the single human.
The universe didn't create only one planet to orbit in space.
The universe didn't create only one star to have objects orbit it.
The universe didn't create only one solar system to be observed by great astronomers.
The universe didn't create only one galaxy to create an amazing assortment of stars.
The universe then couldn't have created only one universe for ideas and thoughts to blossom and thrive.  It couldn't have created a single place where there is only one religion, one people, one idea of right and wrong, one entity, one theory, one everything.  The universe isn't coded in ones and zeros, it's coded with the idea of a googol heartbeats being stuffed together in a Mason jar being sealed by a vacuum to create a unique experience.
However, we manipulate everything to look better in our eyes.  We even manipulate the sciences; the definite, universal laws of nature.  We manipulate numbers, specifically very large and very small numbers.  I am, of course, talking about scientific notation and SI units, I have used these both very commonly throughout my educational life and I find them to be some of the most hilarious things created by I have ever used, beside time.  This is because it takes numbers and makes them look not like the gigantic or minuscule numbers they are but rather like all of the normal numbers a 5th grader would multiply together.  This is because we don't like looking outside of our little world.
My favorite example is a lightyear.  How long is a lightyear?  Well, as opposed to many people's beliefs,  lightyear is a unit of distance, not time.  Granted, it does take time into account, but it is the exact same amount of time as a normal earth year, 365.25 days of 86,400 SI seconds each.  This unit, lightyears, is really the amount of distance light can travel is the time of one earth year.  The speed of light is 670,616,629 miles per hour.  That multiplied by the number of hours in a year, 8,765.812 hours, gives you the distance of one lightyear:
5,878,499,293,887.748 miles.
This is abbreviated to 1 lightyear so that we as humans don't have to comprehend the idea of that many miles being stretched out.  That's the equivalent of 236,074,828.075 trips around the earth and it is all changed to 1.  We diminish the majesty of the universe around us so that we can feel large in comparison while in reality we are simply grains of sand on the infinite beach of the universe.
We do this with people too.  We change their majesty they provide to the universe to 1. We change the ideas they create to be twisted shadows of once prospective genius.  We manipulate to make ourselves appear and feel better.  We do this because we subconsciously recognize the fact that we are smaller than everything.
Long story short, we have created a broken system.  We all believe that we are better than each other because we have a need to be better than other people.  This is because other people are our only frame of reference.  We only base our decisions off of what we see and experience and all we see is the three foot radius circle around us. We refuse to look into the infinite because we fear we will see the face of "god" and that will be greater than all of us.
We don't know where we come from.  We don't know where we are going.  These thoughts are the ones that keep me up at night only to realize that it doesn't matter.  This is because, while we are all smaller than a grain of sand to the universe, we still have a gravitational pull, we still matter.  Each and every one of us creates something that no one else can do.  It may be a car, or music, or writing, or education, or equations, or art, or an experience, or a child.  We all create something that makes its own impact on the world.  We need to wake up from our idealist dream and be pushed into the existential hell we live in and recognize that we are all special, and we can't be better than one another because the universe messed up.
The universe created one of you.  The universe didn't realize that you'd be here.  We are all star-children and children of the mind if we allow ourselves to be one.  That is why we are called individuals, because we are special, and so is every single other species in the universe.  Everything is special, and while there may be more than one of everything, every single version is special.  Everything matters in the scheme of things and if we put down others then we lose some of the most important things around us, people.  We all create something new.
And while it is a finite creation, it is yours and yours alone.
