Midnight River

a luminescent glow falls from the moon   †
peaking through translucent sky † † †
reflecting off of the glimmering stream † † †
† † †
reaching down and gliding pebbles † † †
almost skipping with them † † †
moss tickles her soles † † †
an emerald fern † † †
† † †
transparent cloth drapes over her bare flesh † † †
soon wrapping her thighs and ascending her torso † † †
sealing her chest with fabric † † †
†as she steps into the midnight river † † †
† † †
a quiet soul † † †
who breaths of clouds † † †
and whispers confessions † † †
† † †
falls into the midnight river † † †
drowning
in the crystal water

her own emptiness consumes her
of what she wishes she could be

muffled voices only consist of howling winds
a quiet place
that surrounds the midnight river
filled with a single lonesome soul
† † †
† † †
† † †
† † †
† † †
