There were things going on and I was unaware
Somethings that went beyond a new style to your hair
I thought that you were in a bad mood and needed time alone
Maybe you had a bad day or maybe you were contemplating a poem
Little did I know that your thought were outside of the norm
You were slowly turning over the idea of relocating to a new home
Weighing the pros and cons of him versus me
With who would you trust with the rest of your destiny
Our salaries are carefully compared along with earning potential
Our associates are judged as to who's the most influential
His house versus mine, his car versus mine
All of these things were constantly swirling through your mind
It took some time for me to realize that your silence was not about a poem
It took some time for me to really get to know him
Drinking late into the night both discussing the two of us and you
And to which of us, you would most likely be true
Hell my battle had already been lost, or at least I thought through deceit on your part
But then he assured me that he had never gotten that part
So sex wasn't given, but you were still contemplating your heart
Going about this deception not caring if you got caught
Over drinks with two invited friends, we discussed your sins
We discussed if you would ever truly be happy or would you do this again
I declared myself the looser, I would bow out, I told him you win
After a brief conversation with his new found friend, he thought it best it you two end
Though I thought my feeling more embedded
My new found friends advised me of where our love was headed
A wondering heart, you would forever be
Forever looking at true love as another mystery
Please consider our mystery dissolved and solved
I now realize what happens when infatuation instead of true love evolves
The sun dies the moons and the planets sob
And my heart's orbit around your love refuses to revolve
Somethings that went beyond a new style to your hair
I thought that you were in a bad mood and needed time alone
Maybe you had a bad day or maybe you were contemplating a poem
