Withered

Your touch so familiar
now different today...
Your knowing hands all
but have lost their way.
Lips once understood
my every desire...
No longer gift a
passionate fire.
Loving eyes which I have
read so many times...
Convey a different story
within their lines.
Your words which once
ignited my soul...
Now only attempt to
hurt and control.
Our hearts once shared
the same restless beat..
No longer in step,
no longer repeat.
A love once vibrant,
one so full of life...
Has all but ended
being strangled in strife.
