The sun sets and the swing set time has past
Catching fire flies is just a memory
The leaves fall and the grass wilts
Nothing that lives will last

Salt in the air and sand between my toes
Catching rays riding summer breezes
Never wanting always resting
The secret of youth is that nobody knows

Play becomes work and rest becomes worry
Not taking the time because we must hurry
Replacing joys and taking on burden
All for a future remaining uncertain

Remember the sun and the sand are still there
New leaves return and grass it will grow
And even the aged sometimes don't know
That the breeze still moves through your hair
