Europa
While walking the trails of her terrace guided by a map of the night sky
She spied me as I swam to the surface of Europa to watch an asteroid shower pass by
All perfectly aligned like thoughts in a mad genius's mind
You know it's there, bow your head, show respect the ultimate sign
From that distance it's the most beautiful thing that she has ever saw
Giant and small pieces of metal traveling through space, that the light decides to bounce off
Within some are billions of refractured patterns, a kaleidoscope effect to behold
And she within the prison of her terrace is forced to watch it all unfolds
With the balcony restricting further advancement, she is sentence to the bed that she has made
She can't retreat back into her dwelling, the doorway has been rolled up like a shade
She is forced to endure her position in existence never to wonder why
But I, I wonder, why am I between here and there, a contradiction to the lie
How can I see that each refractured pattern is a story with a soul
All contained in these asteroidial molds, traveling through space in a line waiting to be told
But she's hindered by distance and the imprisonment of her being
She can't see that the asteroids are truly hearses hiding behind a smoke screen
By allowing me to lift her up to me, repopulating the surface of Europa
Lateral and backwards impossible, but upwards allowed if I hold you
Just stand here with me and watch from purgatory as both life and death move on
Maybe an asteroid with a story of you will pass allowing you to latch on
Latch on and travel through the vastness of space, simply a story to be told
Does the continuous retelling of your story reignite your soul
Does it free you, your story, and your soul from the asteroids mold
Does it stop you from sinking into Europa's depth, back to your terrace and now an awaken soul
