Guilt is a Tight-lipped Clog

Guilt is a tight-lipped clog unseen
with the power of patience
ruling the bowels of a house
where no one should live.

We must lock the house up
beg the prevailing winds
not to mind it

and soon the house with the clog
will begin to fade

and the neighbor’s laundry will be seen
waving from across the street
and new thin grass will grow.

Should any fool touch the faucets
The past will well up and drown the city
along with the grass.
