Streaming Dreams

At times I look at my life simply as a stream moving through a countryside
Picking up and carrying anything that decides it wants a ride
As I move quickly through the straights and slowly around the bends
I have no idea of where I started or where my journey will end

I've held hands with the Wind, and allowed her to touch my face
We've made love on the rapids as we gave each other chase
The Sun, who plays coy with me, mirrors my love gleefully
She sashays across my ripples in never ending ecstasy

As I move through the hills and all under the trees
I shout to my depths, for that is where no one can see
The soft touch of the wind can't find my mind
The Sun's glow is warm on my face, but my heart she couldn't find

I began to wear a smile, while frowning deep down
The bottom dwellers took joy in laughing at the sad faced clown
Invaders invaded my banks poisoning my waters and my ability to think
The he said, she saids of negativity, poisoned me making my waters stink

Where does a stream flow to clear it's mind and maybe have a good cry
Do I flow towards the desert where I'll finally decide to go dry
But will I miss the negativity, which it seems is all that I have
Any relationships that I've encountered Love simply wouldn't have

I pledge myself to the course that has already been laid out
Unless I'm blessed to meander I refuse to doubt
The path that I traveled, although lonely, it's a punishment just for me
Who knows I may end in an ocean of love fulfilling my destiny
