What's Your Name Again?
It all started with a
'hey how are you doing'
One random conversation nothing to think to deeply about.
It happens people are friendly.
The second time must've been a fluke, She was probably just passing by.
Fun conversation as per usual.
Over time the conversation gets a little deeper. She even protests the fact that she's the one who always comes to see you.
'You never check up on me you know'
Inception has ensued
'She's right' you think to yourself.
Another week rolls over, you pace about a little contemplating if you actually are willing to do this.
Well here goes nothing.
You go see her,
'You really made me feel special'
You act cool but her words work.
This could be a weekly routine.
You go see her again, bonding as per usual. Her friend walks in, all of you banter. Now is the time for her to introduce you
She pauses and thinks
You pause as you realize what's happening
How far is this going.
You watch as she gets the first letter correct but fails to Articulate the rest.
She relents and says those words:
"What's your name again?"
Friend makes an excuse to leave, realizing the awkwardness.
You turn it into a joke to break the tension. Then you make an excuse to leave.
'Thank you for coming to see me'
It's smiles that hide a frown.
You were just on the hook. A means to kill time and the whole time.
She didn't even remember your name.
