I am so sad right now
I am so mad right now
I am so hurt right now
Why is it a minority
Of people in USA
Are governing our actions
Taking away our rights
At this moment
I fucking hate
The USA
I hate what is happening
In my beloved country
I'm embarrassed to say
I am an American
I used to love this country
I used to be proud of it
Now, I can't even fly
My country's flag
As I, an American
No longer own it
It belongs to those who would
Tear our country apart
Just to be in power
Just to take my rights away
I'm sitting here
Crying my eyes out
As if I've lost the love
Of my life
I'm losing
We are losing
Our country
The USA
We are the laughing stock
Of the world
Our way of governing
Is no longer valid
It needs upgrades
And, yet a minority of people
Cling to past ideals
That no longer exist.

Wrecking ball politics
Is the operative these days
Your life, your livelihoods, your rights
As American citizens
Are being eroded daily
Many say they don't vote
Because it doesn't affect them
YOU ARE WRONG
If you get any kind of assistance
If you work
If you pay taxes
If you eat
If you take a shit
It affects you
You need to hear me
You need to know
IT DOES AFFECT YOU
AND EVERYDAY IT AFFECTS YOU
MORE AND MORE
Your rights are being taken away
Our liberties are being taken
One by one from us
Get with the goddamned program
Get your asses registered to vote
And VOTE!
Fuck these wannabe authoritarians
Fuck these wannabe dictators
Do not be complacent
Complacency will be
The end of our democracy
Beware, know what is happening
Become involved just fucking
VOTE, VOTE, VOTE.
And, yes I'm pissed too!

And, sadly, while tons of people want to vote, the GOP in the states they ''rule'' impede the voting rights of many. God forbid they take power in 2024: that would pretty much be the end of the USA.

Many of us in the UK feel the same about life under our own equivalent of your 'GOP' that has held office since 2010, the results of whose 'austerity' and privatisation programs were are living with.
