fathom

1.      
beyond what i can fathom,      
          the infinite perspectives of      
                    the wondrous universe!      
                              no speck of this is random,      
                                        whether it be of things above,      
                                                  or strands my feet traverse.      
     
2.      
of things beneath the green earth,      
          of fossils 'neath the oceanblue,      
                    i marvel night and day,      
                              yet cannot plumb the tareworth,      
                                        though all my mind kept rendezvous      
                                                  with time's fragrant bouquet.      
       
3.      
the awe of contemplation      
          sedates me with infinity      
                    that makes the soul thirst more      
                              than for some vile oblation,      
                                        because i sense Divinity      
                                                  each second of each hour.      
     
4.      
that i should tremble here, midst      
          the glories of Creation Week,      
                    how humbling is the call!      
                              of all the Works that God didst,      
                                        man has freewill His Face to seek,      
                                                  yet dares he take the fall.      
       
5.      
if earth can be so awesome,      
          consider vast unfallen worlds      
                    that see our spectacle,     
                              as Father to His Sanctum      
                                        calls everyman from death's dark hold      
                                                  to Love's Grace Miracle!
