Saturday Afternoon at LACMA

Unversed in the world of art
I immersed myself in the culture for a little bit
Staring at a Picasso for a few minutes
Or at least trying to make some sense out of it

A Kandinsky, a couple of Pollocks
I was lost in the abstract and expression of it all
The colors and textures were so alive
How they hung so highly regarded on the wall

Then I saw a Diego with two Fridas
I had easily recognized them much to my delight
Right next to each other (on purpose?)
And the Matisse with those colors was quite a sight

Each painting represented something
A beautiful and unique expression of the soul
Creations by men and women inspired
And some works that were several centuries old

My boys and I walked through the pavilions
Observing and absorbing the culture and art
Astounded by what must cost millions
Surrounded by pieces that encourage the heart
