The Friendly Cult of Murderers

We had the same sad in our eyes
I thought we could share a life
Then you gave into the lies
And went to find the place
All the normal people stay
Now you’re calling my name
Saying they’re not as bad as you think

They take away your pain
But they kill your brain
When you assimilate

We both used to hide on our own
Then you gave up your headphones
To feel less alone
Now you’re not who you used to be
They made you not as lonely
I guess I want you to be happy
Even though it kills me

You follow them blindly in the dark
How could you give them your heart
Being alone isn’t that fucking hard
I hope one day you fall apart and regret
Every word that you’ve said
Finally realize the chain around your neck
And the bullet in my chest

I loved how it felt
To be reflected in somebody else
And not hate myself
I see your name everywhere
As I’m choking on air
It only hurts because
I know you don’t care
