Oh Hateful Day,
It's for celebrating heroes we are told,
Some with, some without a battle scar
That may or may not prove they were bold
On fields of terror painfully far
From all the genial comforts of home
All too often taken for granted
By those ensconced on their native loam
Where all those pleasant comforts are planted
Like combat remains into a grave
First shipped, like prime Amazon orders,
To the land of the free, home of the brave,
Now promoting more weaponized borders
Delineating an old warrior culture
That feeds more meat to the Reaper's pet vulture.

That may or may not prove they were bold
On fields of terror painfully far
From all the genial comforts of home
All too often taken for granted
By those ensconced on their native loam
Where all those pleasant comforts are planted
Like combat remains into a grave

Now promoting more weaponized borders
Delineating an old warrior culture
That feeds more meat to the Reaper's pet vulture.
