Black Roses and Zoloft

I know you’re really not ok
We’re not close even though
We’re almost the same age
Going through some of the same things
I know they’ll let you die
Before they help you change
But it’s not my place to say anything

It’s the end of the world
Her first breakup with a girl

She was best friends with the bathroom floor
Her fragile bones couldn’t take it like they did before
Felt too empty so she took one more
They had to break down the door
To get her out
She’s foaming black at the mouth
Surrounded by a broken crowd
Don’t worry she’s used to it by now

One day she’ll be a ghost
They always joked she’d overdose
And it didn’t make them change
They say it’s such a shame
It’s because they gave her everything
Look what happens
When you raise your kids this way
They turn out depressed and gay

She’s just gossip in a group chat
They fight and she stays with her dad
They let her drink
Though she’s only sixteen
She says she’s been in therapy
Apparently it hasn’t worked
Three years later and she still hurts
