Punished By God
When I had a car accident several years ago, I had quite the scare.
My brakes went out and I crashed and I'm confined to a wheelchair.
I'll never walk again, I'll be in this wheelchair for the rest of my life.
Because she didn't want to be married to a cripple, I lost my wife.
I was a phony faith healer and I perpetrated a fraud.
But I didn't get away with it, I was punished by God.
I would scam innocent people out of their bread.
I'm in a wheelchair and I'm lucky not to be dead.
Some may think it wasn't God's punishment but I know that it was.
I learned that a man has to pay for the wicked things that he does.
I'll suffer for the rest of my days because of my car that was driven.
I asked the Lord to forgive me for my sin and I have been forgiven.
I have some advice and you'd better listen to the words that I say.
Don't use the Lord to scam people because if you do, you will pay.

I like your poem because it is direct and honest. That's not the reason I've added it to my reading list, though; I have better reasons. I look at your reasoning and realise the logic of your thoughts is limited by your perception of Who God is.
There was a "perfect" man by the name of Job (God called him perfect—and who should know?!). And yet, Job suffered more than any man on the earth, because of the jealousy of the devil. Now if Job were to claim that God punished him, he would seem to be more justified than you are, because he never did anything wrong, and yet he suffered.
How did he suffer? The devil took away his possessions, his family, his health, and even his will to live (Job 1–3). The devil asked God for a chance to disprove Job’s loyalty, but Job did not flinch, in spite of all the punishment brought on by the devil. Do you know what Job said in the midst of all his suffering? He said, "For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth" (Job 19:25).
God’s first Will is to rescue sinners, not to punish anyone. For this, He paid the price by allowing His Son to die on a cruel cross for wrongs He never committed; He actually paid our penalty for sin so that you and I (and all sinners) may be saved.
You could have lost your life in that car crash, but you are alive to talk about it. Take that as God’s sparing you so that you might ask His forgiveness and be spared from the ultimate punishment, which is eternal destruction. Eternal destruction is only for those who refuse the Gift of Salvation that God offers. He will never force anyone to accept salvation, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12).
