The Visitor (3)

If you were a person,
I’d ask you where you came from and
if you planned on going.
I could send you far away
to see how life would have been.
 
If you had a voice,
I’d want you to tell me  
why you picked me,
whether I could have done something differently
and what is the best way to handle your visits.

If you had a mind,
I’d ask you what you want with me.
What is the learning objective here?
Also, how did you hide yourself from others;
camouflaging yourself as part of me  
until I reached the age of twenty.
 
If you had a heart,
I’d like to know if it were possible  
to keep my sensitivity, empathy,
creativity, depth and insight
without having entertained you.
