No longer am I a leaning tree
No longer  am I fallen

I have risen above
Above it all

Shoved my way upwards
Forced my way onwards

My roots have intertwined
My roots, they found you.

Breathtaking springs

We have lived
Together

I’ve seen your leaves fall, shrivel, dry, crumble
I’ve seen your branches fall to pieces
I’ve seen you naked, vulnerable

I’ve seen you grow,
Punch through the darkness
Shed the winter dew
Leaves bloom anew

I’ve seen you reborn
I’ve seen you bud
And fight. And live.

Your branches reach out,
Stretch up and outward
Take up the sky

We’ve held each other
We’ve leaned, waned, withstood
