Mythology of Cosmology

This world is exciting
Each day mesmerizing
Nature’s bounty doth thrive
Yet we forcedly drive

Drive the world to decay
Burning hay, skies turned gray
Ponds of waste, mountains of use
Our long-time Earthen abuse

Reaching back to our spawn
Ancient birth of the dawn
Our minds came alight
An aethereal slight

A Garden of life
No need, want, or strife
Sin began running rife
As we harnesses the light

Centuries have passed
Our virtues, they’ve crashed
In an eternal flame
Burning lust, smoking shame

We’ve allowed our domain
To become ruled by fame
Until those in power
Are showered, and devoured, in disdain

Turn our eyes back to God
Only way to move on
Else our souls will be gone
Left behind? Only carrion

Author's Note
I’m at a point in my life where I’m searching for meaning. With the state of the world, it’s quite a challenge. I was born in a different time than we’re in now. I like to say I’m a 50 year old in a 30 year olds body. This is just one perspective of “today”.
