Thank you, Rob for your beautiful comment. At least we're trying to be kind. I agree completely that it takes guts to be kind. Hate comes too easy these days. I realize my outlook in these pieces is utopianistic but one can dream, right?

Beautiful. I'm also convinced that love is always the answer... but kindness can be so hard sometimes!! All our instincts of pride & self-preservation fight against us on this, but it's important to always try. You, my friend, are a kind soul. Lovely, challenging write.

I agree wholeheartedlt about love. I se kindness as an outward manifestation of our love of self and anyone with whom we have contact. You are right when you express how hard it is to be kind. Abraham Lincoln, with this question,  expressed perfectly my idealist view of showing kindness to all. "Do I not destroy my enemies by makingb them friends?"

Oooh, I like that quote! Definitely idealistic... but nicer than the one in the bible about heaping burning coals on your enemy's head by showing them kindness! That one always seemed to miss the point, in my mind... LOL 😆

I'm also a huge believer in kindness, love, honesty and karma, dear BB. I've had several instances occur in my life where it would've definitely been easier to crumble and wallow within the darkness; becoming jaded and awful. Yet, I chose differently. It's taken a lot of introspective work tending to loads of scar tissue to learn that kindness, love, respect and compassion will ALWAYS win out in the end.    
 
Rob was spot on in saying life isn't simple nor cut and dry. That's a key point to reflect upon.    
I understand now more than ever, humans are messy and complex; I can only control and be responsible for myself and my own heart's truth. I choose to be of light and love, even when there are times that press down upon making it nearly impossible to navigate my way through the darkness.    
 
I love senryú, as you know; yours are so uplifting and consequential! You hit this poignant, visceral quartet out of the park with your lovely poetic voice showcasing your big, beautiful heart. Oh how it ringings out so loud and crystal clear.
Bravo!    
   
For me It's almost like the poem version of your singing....(that's how profoundly I see it and feel it )

Love and kindness should always be defended. It seems so easy for people to hate and intense hatred can find you anywhere. So often for no reason other than destruction. And hate tries to tear down the kindness in you too. To make you like that and when you are not it often comes at you harder looking for that response. Wanting to feel that hate grow inside of you too. To make you ugly too. And for what? to share misery. To kill that love, compassion, and kindness in you. You should never allow those things to be taken from you. You should share them with the people that matter and people that are actually kind and compassionate. Actions speak louder than words. People often say they are one way while acting another. And if you respond to hate you only fuel the fire. Always choose your side wisely, the side that helps you grow and doesn't tear you down. Don't waste a minute engaging with people that only want to make you feel terrible and take away those things that make you a beautiful person.
