Have We Forgotten

how to laugh

at ourselves

drowned in the import
of our worth

There is not one
who ‘atimes
not a fool becomes
(more so if one has loved)

Great are we
but ever small

To see some levity
in our own
is medicine
for the heavy haul

A draught of humility
waylays assault

Foil a scourge
without cost!

or surely fall

Even the One
who draughted us
has humor
‘tis so

for (S)he
in Her creation
sees Herself
