Never do you leave a war.

So heavy do these burdens be
that drags the very soul of me,
to depths the light will dare not go,
the inward places down below.

The stickiness of blood that’s drying,
I hold another friend whose dying,
a hardened heart breaks all the more,
never do you leave a war.

In rhythmic tones of agonal breath,
a voice is whispering face your death.
Sadly this is not my fate,
for now Valhalla has to wait.

Within the pit of my despair,
the slightest piece of hope is there,
to guide me through the day once more,
never do you leave a war…
