Neon Cosmos

 
We are the ones that lie awake
Looking up at the moon every night,
And wondering to ourselves
If there is anyone else out there
Looking at the same moon...
Each thing that we see
So different and separate from ourselves,
All that exists in this life
Is cold and fleeting;
A disappearing reality.

A blood red moon
Hanging within a pale sky,
And therein lies the answer
We've all been searching for
Such a long time…
Two bodies share a single soul,
Once you reached out to me
I knew it was you,
Now you're the only one for me
In all the world; the Universe.

Our flesh scatters to the cosmos,
Feeding what is left
Of a bottomless black hole
Which is my heart;
Comprised of all our hearts…
Complex patterns weave their way
Into the night sky,
Forever watching over us;
Thoughts of you and I
Becoming one again.

How a single thought can shift,
Changing all in existence
Until the final light is extinguished,
Such a stellar clarity is possessed
Dwelling inside each of us.
It all goes back to One,
Residing inside this hologram
That we dare to call a life,
We are but puppets; mere dolls,
Lost to the neon night.
