TEARDROPS
If I showed you my teardrops,
would you collect them like rain?
store them in a jar
with the label of "pain?"
If I showed you my teardrops,
would you follow their tracks
from my eyes to my cheeks,
They write the story that I am too afraid to speak.
If I showed you my teardrops
would you kiss them away
would you hold my face, and make it dry
whisper gently "you are too strong to cry?"
If I showed you my teardrops,
and asked if you could show me your own
so we can learn that we are lonely,
but we're never alone.
