A Better Connection

(Written in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA)

We made a connection,
A better connection than I thought possible.
I thought you'd be impossible, but no,
You were sweet and accommodating,
Adorable and cute to match.
You made me harder than I make myself,
And raised me higher than anyone else!

Yes, I came for you, my sweet Princess,
The one waiting around the world from me.
And once I'd arrived, I waited and waited...
There wasn't anywhere else
I needed or wanted to go...
Until you showed.

Looking like a teenager with your long flowing locks,
You finally arrived, apologizing; apologizing for what?
You were here, we were here, together at last,
And that's all that mattered right now.
Time to figure it out, waiting for the fallout,
The fallout that never did come.

Instead, eternal lust ensued,
Quite unable to quench each other's thirst,
We just carried on, hugging, loving, kissing,
Waiting for the other to tire, but neither did.
We only became hungrier, consuming one another -
Such was our appetite, we forgot about food.

And I loved the way you knew your stuff,
How confident you were in control,
As I lay back losing mine.
I've not seen such soft happy eyes,
Smile back at me in a very long time.
Eyes that said you're happy,
Right here, right now.

Can it really have been only two weeks,
Two weeks that we physically knew one another?
Two weeks of our lives that will stretch far beyond,
The reality of time and recurring memories -
We'll likely recite long into the night.
The time was right, it was our time.
Maybe it wasn't the right time,
But it didn't bother us because we were all we needed,
And together we'll stand taller for the experience.

We proved something today, proved it wasn't all talk.
I will never forget you honey, forget how you got me,
How you overloaded my senses and everything I thought I stood for.
And still it seems like we are growing.
There's so much more to know about you,
More to respect, more to be amazed over;
But who knows?

Wow...I'm so glad I came for you my sweet Princess,
And I will always smile about that, smile when I think of you,
Smile at how we met in seemingly impossible circumstances,
Smile when all is forgotten.

When all is forgotten...
We will stand forever tall.

Author's Note
(108) It was a very good connection, rather like the 3-pin electric socket pictured. Not all of the American plugs have 3 pins after all, so, luckily for me, I had an extra pin to stick in. ;-)
