Sea to Sky Highway

by myself in the dark
dappled sunlight Tall Trees Park
Brothers Creek goes splish and splash
before again away I dash

driving slowly near the shore
until again I hear the roar
of the highway, sea-to-sky
then much faster off I fly

Upper Levels Highway One
where leaving town has just begun
to Lion's Bay and Furry Creek
discovering just what I seek

the simple joy of moving on
away from where I came from
twisting turning, up and down
a summer's day beside Howe Sound

eagles in the sky above
Porteau Cove whose sights I love
Brittania Beach's copper mine
Shannon Falls not far I find

on the way to Squamish town
soaring mountains all around
Garibaldi's pointed peak
source of awe of which i speak,,,
