DON'T PRAY FOR PREY
Awash in the tears of Persephone's grief
And gorging on the bones of Lucifer's feast
Cradle your pain embraced to your breasts
Coupled with the laments in the raven's nest
Don't pray
For prey
There is a rope in the closet
A written letter on the desk
Will someone ever discover
The body hanging in the dark?
You're dying to know if love is real
Or is it a collection of pills and scars
Abashed your child offers their blood
To appease your ghost devoid of stars
DON'T PRAY
FOR PREY
A sanguine sun splashed upon the wall
Whispering secrets when no one is there
But the demon in the mirror
Makes way when the devil is near
There was rape in the darkness
And a waterfall in private
Lost in the mountains of madness
I'm putting Hell before Heaven
Don't pray
For prey
Jagged are the shards of the silver glass ghasts
Cutting and peeling away with spectral malice
Demented, cemented in the tomb
Screaming, dead to the world underneath the moon
You're dying to know if love is real
Or is it a collection of pills and scars
Abashed your child offers their blood
To appease your ghost devoid of stars
DON'T PRAY
FOR PREY
A sanguine sun splashed upon the wall
Whispering secrets when no one is there
But the demon in the mirror
Makes way when the devil is near
Gutted, the grief eats away
Wretched and infected
In the grave and dissected
I CAN'T REST IN PIECES
You're dying to know if love is real
Or is it a collection of pills and scars
