How marvelous to think a soul so light
That it may flit like some unfettered fart
All about a brutally Baptist night
Where no pleasure comforts the beating heart
Of the tearfully afterlife fearful
Somehow unable to police their thought
And confusing hate for something cheerful
Due to the dreadful scripture they're taught
On a Sunday sabotaged by school
When the pupil may well have learned instead
A much less harmful scientific rule
That allows mortal lovers to share a bed
Where love, I think, is more commonly found
Than in some cartoon spirit graveyard bound.
